LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Members of the Los Angeles Kings – the 2014 Stanley Cup Champions – received their 2014 Stanley Cup Championship ring in a 'little Blue Box' last night during a private dinner. The rings were designed by the world premier jeweler Tiffany & Co. as a lasting tribute to the LA Kings' achievement.
The one-of-a-kind rings were crafted by Tiffany & Co. to recognize the team's 2014 Stanley Cup Championship season. The ring also represents the second collaboration between the team and jeweler who have forged a larger partnership with the organization to introduce the 2014 LA Kings Championship Collection, available to fans at tiffany.com/LAKings.
"It is truly an honor for Tiffany & Co. to celebrate the LA Kings' second championship victory in three years," said Vicky Reynolds, Group Director of Tiffany & Co. "The meticulously and beautifully crafted Championship Rings symbolize the team's passion for their sport and their dedication to continued athletic achievement."
The partnership between Tiffany & Co. and the Kings, which was negotiated by AEG Global Partnerships, the division that oversees sales and activation of sponsorship for the Kings as well as other AEG premier assets, includes in-arena branding elements, a custom 'making of the Championship Ring' video, and an in-store viewing of the 2014 Championship Ring at the jeweler's Beverly Hills location from Friday, October 10 through Sunday, October 12.
"Having the opportunity to say that the world premier jeweler Tiffany & Co. has crafted not one, but two Stanley Cup Championship rings for the LA Kings in three seasons is a privilege," Josh Veilleux, Vice President, Corporate Partnerships for the LA Kings. "We are beyond excited to have such a great partner in Tiffany & Co. and look forward to celebrating many more milestones as we embark on the 2014 – 2015 NHL season."
The face of the ring, measuring 32mm, features the LA Kings' shield comprised of 136 round diamonds amongst pave set black spinels. The top and bottom bezels surrounding the shield read "STANLEY CUP CHAMPIONS".
Highlighted by the beaming lights of the Staples Center, the player's name and number appear on the one shank while the other showcases the iconic Stanley Cup and the teams' overall playoff record (16:10). Imagery of the Stanley Cup being hoisted overhead and decorative filigree artwork are a few of many elements differentiating the 2014 Championship Ring from the 2012 version. Inside the ring is an inscription of the 2014 series scores, celebrating the Kings' road to victory.
